‘Life is like a carpet, meaningless for all’
The whole work is about three interlocked aspects, my father, my life, and my love.
Life and death, growing and loss, console and regret… all those thoughts about life constitute the inspiration of my work and they are also the redemption I hope to seek in art. I tried to use every over-sentimental fragile and joyful moment in life to starkly show love and hate in a person's heart. Writing "Celebration" helps me explore my own heart, look back at my past, reveal all the hidden feelings like shyness, pain, desire, jealousy, sensitivity, nerves, madness in my trivial life, and put them into the work. Therefore, the work is about nothing, but the individual we are. Isn't this tiny and shy "individual" the one being repressed and neglected in our hearts?
