This is a performance of " Das Knurren der Milchstraße", a play in the "Playmarket" program of the Berlin Theatre Festival 2020. It is jointly organized by the Goethe Institute and the Inside-out Theatre. I worked as a stage designer.
This work is a poignant and angry account of the world's misfortunes. Drawing on extremely witty images and magical character monologues, the author sketches a fictional future full of dystopian scenarios, filled with political celebrities and pop culture stars. It is an accurate portrayal of the world's ills and exposes the absurdities of world politics. It is a work of science fiction but also a text about our time, obscure but ultimately hopeful. It celebrates the beauty of humanity.
